Some wedding days are full of non-stop schedules and back-to-back events, but Ema and Andy wanted something different. Their day was all about connection, spending time together and celebrating with their closest family and friends — and it couldn’t have been more perfect. With blue skies above, the sound of live music, the breathtaking backdrop of Coombe Abbey Hotel and its stunning country park, this wedding was a true summer dream.
A Relaxed Morning at Coombe Abbey
The day started with the kind of summer weather every couple hopes for — gorgeous sunshine, clear blue skies, and a gentle breeze drifting through the historic grounds of Coombe Abbey. Set within 500 acres of beautiful parkland, the hotel is steeped in history and romance, making it the perfect backdrop for Ema and Andy’s intimate day.
Ema spent the morning at Coombe Abbey getting ready with her Mum, Best friend and soon to be Mother in Law, while Andy enjoyed a calm start at home. Although the day was full of joy, there was one bittersweet note: sadly some of Ema’s family couldn’t travel from Lithuania due to illness. To make sure they could still be part of their day, I set up some extra video cameras to record both the ceremony and speeches in full, so they could share these precious memories afterwards.

A Ceremony Full of Emotion
The ceremony took place inside the magnificent Coombe Abbey Hotel, with its elegant architecture and romantic ambience setting the scene perfectly. The team at Coombe Abbey have recently undertaken a massive refurbishment of some of the key rooms within the hotel and I have to say it looks absolutely stunning. Ema and Andy exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends, and there was such a warm, joyful energy in the room.
Outside, the gardens were bathed in sunlight, which made for the perfect backdrop for confetti photos — blue skies, huge smiles, and so much laughter!
A Summer Celebration in Style
After the ceremony, everyone gathered on the hotel lawns to enjoy drinks and take in the surroundings. Coombe Abbey Country Park is one of my favourite places to shoot as a wedding photographer — there are endless beautiful spots, from open fields and peaceful lakes to hidden woodland paths.
Guests enjoyed delicious cakes, champagne, and the relaxed atmosphere while a pianist played in the background, creating the perfect soundtrack for the afternoon.
Ema and Andy chose to keep their day simple, natural, and stress-free — no long timelines, no endless formalities, just quality time spent with the people who matter most.
Capturing Natural & Relaxed Moments
Ema and Andy didn’t want anything too staged or formal when it came to their photos, a handful of family group photographs but mostly we focused on natural, candid moments — laughter during speeches, hugs with family, kids running across the lawns, and those quiet in-between moments that often mean the most.
Their portraits were taken around Coombe Abbey’s beautiful grounds, making the most of the summer light and sweeping landscapes. The combination of historic architecture and natural greenery made for a stunning backdrop without feeling overly posed or forced.

From the warm sunshine and blue skies to the intimate ceremony, relaxed celebration, and heartfelt family connections, Ema and Andy’s wedding at Coombe Abbey Hotel was everything they hoped it would be — simple, joyful, and full of love.
It was an honour to be there capturing every moment and helping them create memories to treasure, especially knowing these photos and videos will be shared with loved ones far away.
